My Year 6 class were starting a project on Still-life. I rejected the conventional fruit subject as costly and not environmentally friendly and then I remembered Van Gogh’s painting of his boots, a subject which he returned to on several occasions. What could be more personal than a pair of well worn boots. I am sure Sherlock Holmes would have had plenty to say on the wearer of these boots.
Coming right up-to-date my class drew one or both of a pair of their trainers. Their choice of media was pen and ink, watercolour or pastel.
Here are some of the results. Apologies for the quality of the photographs I had to balance on a stairwell.
All credit to my class I think they excelled with this assignment and I hope you agree!
