Tomorrow our thoughts turn to mothers everywhere and so I thought I would share with you a recent work that my Year 4 students have just completed as part of a theme based on how Spring is portrayed and celebrated around the world. Their challenge was to draw and colour a container of daffodils. We began first with some sketches to observe the shape and petal formation, moving onto the final colour composition. I think you will agree that the results show a wonderful energy combined with a freshness and directness that children in particular seem to be able to capture. The children are to present their finished work to their mother’s on Sunday and I know that there are going to be some delighted mothers when they see their gift.
